HWLF has held annual fundraisers since 1991. The fundraiser has evolved over time into a gala event, including silent auctions, raffles, song, dance, and general merriment. Prominent business, legal, and government leaders have served as honorary co-chairs, including Governor Linda Lingle, Governor Ben Cayetano, Mayor Mufi Hannemann, Dolly Ching, the Honorable William S. Richardson, Robert F. Clarke, Arlene Lum, John C. Couch, Jane B. Tatibouet, Walter A. Dods, Julia Sia Ing, the Honorable Mazie Hirono, Tom Leppert, Joan Bickson, the Honorable Benjamin Cayetano, Kitty Lagareta, Richard L. Humphreys, Glen Zander, Faye Kurren, Melvin Y. Kaneshige, Karen Nakamura, Wayne Minami, Joanne Toledo, Sprint, John Monahan, the Honorable Betty Vitousek, Roger Drue, Donna Tanoue, Martha Smith, and Constance Lau. HWLF is proud of its honorary chairs and acknowledges their considerable effort in making each fundraiser a success.
